We have delivered two VR marksmanship training systems to the Marines’s Weapons Training Battalion (WTBn) in Quantico, Virginia. WTBn will use the systems to test as trainers for Trackless Moving Infantry Targets (TMITs), aka robotic targets. One simulator teaches specifically to the TMIT Range Specifications, using the Marines’ current method of establishing the lead on a mover. The other simulator, Moving Target Trainer, teaches how to hit “uncooperative” moving targets – of uncertain range, trajectory and speed. This simulator, which uses a M27 (Heckler & Koch 416) as the gun controller, which has Mantis X electronic bolt, simulates the Trijicon VCOG adjustable power scope. The Moving Target Trainer simulates oblique movers, forward assault movers and shooting from a 30′ tower.
