Anyone old enough to remember the Link Flight Trainer will appreciate that fully immersive training that simulates the activity is the safest way way to learn the basics of flight. I used to fly gliders and I had a flight simulator hooked up to my PC – along with the pedals and joy stick. Worked OK in 2D on the monitor, but was not as immersive or as tactile as a Link trainer.
Virtual reality headsets are going to change flight simulators – big time. They have already changed the way you learn how to shoot skeet, trap and sporting clays (or drones. . . ) You will see that as soon as you strap on a Samsung, HTC or Oculus Rift headset and load up one of LeadTech’s shooting games. Unlike most virtual reality shooting games, you can actually learn how to do something with Lead Tech: hit moving targets using sustained lead.
