Lordy, the first units are being printed – will be used to make a green screen mixed reality demo video.
Go ahead and get the Vive Tracker for your HTC Vive and we will sell you a controller when they come out of the printer.
Cheap $, in return for a review. Or barter for a Blaser F3.
Could you list what we need to purchase (sorry am a VR virgin) 🙂
I have a birthday coming up – so this kit will be on my wish list – we have very limited sporting practice grounds and really need the practice. Review would be my pleasure – especially if you can improve my shooting!
Why not simply share 3d printing files? It seems that your primary business – and what yo are good at – is making software. It also seems that the gun controller gets in the way of selling your software. In fact, while we have all been waiting for the controller HTC announced the Vive Pro – which now is a hold up for buying your software since it would be silly buying the Vive until the Pro is released because you can then either get a better or a cheaper VR rig.
What’s the delay ? The trigger switch – trying to find one that is robust enough and “tactile” (clickable) enough to be acceptable. Send us a PM and we will put you on the list. If you have not gotten and Vive Tracker, do so and pair it. We will send early adopters the beta version of the gun tracker software.

When will these be available? I am trying to purchase a HTC vive system at the moment and want the ability to use my real gun for clazer!
Chip Northrup says
We got the first hard production quotes last night – and are sorting through which one to go with.
We may start 3D printing some since there is a line of users waiting to get started . . .
The HTC Vive unit is definitely the way to go –

Can I purchase a prototype right now? Please email me back so we can further discuss this possibility.
Chip Northrup says
Now that we have finished the design we are going to start by 3D printing the parts to get them shipped. Will post price, etc.
HENRY HUGHEY says
When can we expect them to be ready to ship/ purchase? I would like to order one asap

Controller has electrical components, a switch, attachment hardware, all in addition to the 3d bits
The Vive tracker will work with the Vive Pro – which, as it’s name implies, is for professional applications
Controllers will be shipped as soon as Stephen has finished testing them –
Thanks for your patience

Hi Chip,
How (where) can I see one of these?
I live in Dallas. I teach shooting for fun and my primary employment is teaching in a flight simulator, but I’m a VR rookie.
Do you have an office where I can drop by or do you have one set up somewhere?
Thanks!
Frank

There is a test rig set up at the designers in Plano – send me a pm and I will hook you up
